1993 年，上海成立民办中小学校长联谊会，行业成员参与管理初见端倪。
In 1993, Shanghai established the Principal Fellowship Association of Non-governmental Primary and Secondary Schools, and members of the education industry began to participate in its management.
1996 年 12 月 5 日，胡卫发起成立上海市教育学会民办教育专业委员会，并担任会长。
On December 5, 1996, Hu Wei initiated and founded the Non-governmental Education Committee of the Shanghai Society of Education (SSE) and served as Chairman.
2005 年，上海在全国率先成立“民办中小学协会”和“民办高等教育协会”；其中“民办中小学协会”依托于民办所设立和运行，胡卫任会长。2012年两协会合并、成立“上海市民办教育协会”，胡卫担任常务副会长。
In 2005, Shanghai established the Non-governmental Primary and Secondary Schools Association and the Non-governmental Higher Education Association as the first such associations in China, the former being founded and operated by NERI, with Hu Wei as Chairman. In 2012, both associations merged into the Shanghai Association for Non-Government Education, with Hu Wei as Executive Vice Chairman.
2008 年 5 月“中国民办教育协会”正式成立，许嘉璐主席亲任名誉会长，陶西平同志任会长，胡卫出任副会长。此后， 其下属的“中国民办教育研究院”亦选择落户协和教育集团总部。
In May 2008, the China Association for Non-Government Education was founded, with Chairman Xu Jialu as the Honorary President, Mr. Tao Xiping as President and Hu Wei as Vice-President. Thereafter, the China Academy of Non-Government Education, subordinated under the Association, established its head office in the Xiehe Education Group.
